Lobro/GKN brand CV joint (made in Germany), coupled with the Rockford boot (made in the USA), is the best cv combination on the market. The Rockford is more than twice as thick as standard Lobro boots.

This kit fits rear axle all years, all models, and Syncro front inner joints.  This kit includes (1) Lobro CV joint, (1) one Rockford boot, (1) six CV bolts, (1) six CV serrated washers, and enough CV grease to lube the joint before installation. You'll need two kits per axle and four kits per 2WD Van if you're doing both axles.

This German-made CV joint fits rear axles, all vans including Syncro. If you wish to use the 944 joint kit on Syncro front inner, please click here for the Syncro Inner Front CV Bolts. The bolts for the Syncro Front Inner are 2mm longer than the ones that come with this kit, so it is necessary to purchase the longer ones unless you are reusing your old bolts. You would need 6 bolts per cv joint kit.

These joints are particularly important if you have raised your van, whether it's 2wd or 4wd. As the van rises, the stock CV joints will start to bind because the angle of the axle becomes too acute. The 944 CV kit has better articulation and won't fail as quickly as the stock joint.

*Please note that the GKN/Lobro CV joints will not fit the Chinese axles on the market.*

Note: As stated in the Bentley factory service manual (page 42.8), your CV joints will need to be installed onto these axles with a press and a bit of anti-seize. New axles are machined to exacting tolerances and are a tight interference fit with the joint. Please be prepared for this step of the installation. Trying to pound them on will only lead to much frustration!

Note: The inner race of the joint has a beveled (chamfered) edge that faces inward. The CV joint kits usually come with a concave washer, which is not used.

Note: When we order the CV joints, they are ordered as a kit. As such, they come with the stock CV joint boot. In the past, we have removed the stock boot and replaced them with the Rockford boot. We will no longer practice this, and you will receive two sets of boots. Please compare the two different boots. You will be quite satisfied with the extra money that you spent. What to do with the stock boots? Either keep them as spares or give them to your less fortunate friend who does not have the Rockford boot on their van.
