Commonly malfunctioning part that results in rich running condition or loading up. Sometimes it is not the part itself but corrosion on the connector as it plugs onto the sensor. Unplug the connector and clean the contacts on both the plug and the sensor with a small wire brush. We include the 0-ring with the sensor. This part is also known as Temp Sensor II. Please Note - this sensor is used on all 2wd models from 86-91 but the 1.9L and Syncro models takes the earlier style threaded sensor, (part KT-000989).

This sensor lives in the Thermostat Housing and talks to the ECU.
