Important Tips for Installing the Propex Combustion Exhaust Pipe

Mar 28th 2022

One of the most common installation issues with the Propex is a combustion exhaust pipe that does not have an airtight seal. An air leak here has the potential to throw a fault code in the heater.

Here are the steps to follow when installing this pipe:

  1. First slide the high temperature silicone coupler down onto the pipe about six inches.
  2. Next slide the pipe onto the heater combustion exhaust outlet.
  3. Now slide the silicone coupler up over the pipe and heater outlet.
  4. Finish off the installation by applying high temperature RTV around the ends of the silicone coupler to ensure no air leaks.
