This thermostat can be set to read in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Here's the procedure for setting the display:

1. Disconnect the heater from its power source
2. Hold both the 'up' and 'down' buttons on the thermostat as you reconnect the power
3. The screen will light up and display the current display setting: GC = gas centigrade, GF = gas Fahrenheit
4. Release the two buttons and immediately start pressing the 'up' arrow to scroll through the display options.
5. Select GF for Fahrenheit or GC for Celcius
6. Wait two seconds, and the thermostat will store the selected display preference
7. Now relax and enjoy reading the ambient temperature without doing the math!
