This is the coolant hose that goes from the thermostat housing to the coolant pipe that runs to the radiator and includes a branch that goes to the transmission oil cooler.VW stopped making this hose. When we looked into having these hoses made ourselves, it made sense to have them made with better materials. These are aircraft grade silicone hoses that are more durable and capable of withstanding temperatures far higher than the stock rubber ones.
