The VW Vanagon fuel tank has a ventilation system comprised of several rubber components, all of which degrade over time with exposure to fuel fumes. Don't lose your Van to fire! Fix your leaky, smelly fuel system with Van Cafe comprehensive Vanagon fuel tank reseal kit and breathe easy again!

Vanagon Fuel Tank Reseal Kit with Aluminum Fuel Tank Fittings

This kit fits all 2wd vans, gas, or diesel. The difference between the plastic and non-plastic reseal kits is the plastic crossover pipe vs. our updated crossover pipe with the rubber hose and aluminum ends. Additionally, you will need to choose your filler neck seal size and whether you would like the aftermarket or OEM fuel tank level sender o-ring.

VW had stopped making the crossover pipes, but we had fittings made out of aluminum, which will be a much improved and permanent solution over the plastic part. We also include a fuel breather hose between them. Kit contains 3 breather grommets, plastic replacement crossover pipe, your choice of filler neck seal, an OEM sending unit O-Ring, 7 feet of fuel line vapor hose, 16 stainless steel gap-free pinch clamps.
Buying everything in kit form saves money over buying the parts individually and ensures you get all of the parts you need to complete the job. Please also consider that while jostling the gas tank during this job, sediment in the bottom may be energized from a long slumber, and a little dirt may even drop into the tank. It might be a good time to change the fuel filter while doing this job. Please note that this kit does not include the 2 fuel expansion tank/side bleeder grommets (N90100501).

This kit is compatible with the Fuel Tank that we sell.
How to Determine the Difference Between California and Federal Fuel Tank Models
Under the front passenger wheel, you can see the fuel pipe that leads to the tank. On California models (Pictured), you can see a decrease in the tube size (from a circumference of 7.5" down to 5") right after the filler opening. In contrast, in federal models, the tube stays at a constant circumference of 7.5" from the filler opening to the tank. If the filler neck tapers down, you need the 57.5/50mm grommet. If it stays the same circumference, you need the 70/57.5mm grommet.
