One of the most common installation issues with the Propex is a combustion exhaust pipe that does not have an airtight seal. An air leak here has the potential to throw a fault code in the heater.
Here are the steps to follow when installing this pipe:
- First slide the high temperature silicone coupler down onto the pipe about six inches.
- Next slide the pipe onto the heater combustion exhaust outlet.
- Now slide the silicone coupler up over the pipe and heater outlet.
- Finish off the installation by applying high temperature RTV around the ends of the silicone coupler to ensure no air leaks.
