The Shoebox Electronix Battery Saver is the best headlight alarm available for 1984-1991 VW Vanagons. It is an independent and dedicated electronic device that can be installed easily, and later removed and wired into a different Vanagon if needed. This is an entirely more reliable and specific method compared to simply modifying your existing door buzzer, as it generates a completely different sound than the stock buzzer circuit.
