This is NOT your typical passive voltage isolator! Our ACTIVE battery manager ensures that you'll have reliable multi-battery management in every situation you and your Van may encounter.

This intelligent device monitors charge on both starting and auxiliary batteries. It gives preference to the starting battery until it reaches 13.2V before beginning to charge the auxiliary. No more having plenty of juice to run your stereo but none to start your Van!

Our battery isolator also assists in engine starts. When the starter is energized, the primary battery voltage is compared to that of the auxiliary. If it is lower, the two batteries are paralleled together so the auxiliary can assist in vehicle starting. No more monkeying around with battery cables!

Lastly, the unit charges batteries as needed at steady rates that reduce sulfation and prolong battery life.

Using our included 12V wiring kit is the easiest way on the market to add a second battery to the Vanagon's driver's seat cavity. We designed our kit to stand above the rest by using the correct gauge wire to handle potential current flows. All wires are pre-cut to length and terminated with crimp-on fitting, just run the wires and crimp to connect! This kit comes complete with all needed hardware and color instructions to help you complete your project.

Note:  This isolator works great with lead acid and AGM batteries.  It will not work with Lithium batteries. Lithium batteries require lithium-dedicated components.

Note: We do not recommend any particular battery system for the aux. battery in your Van. Battery technology changes rapidly, and we believe it's in your best interest to consult your local battery expert for advice on system sizing, battery type, etc. A local battery store is also far better equipped to handle any warranty issues you may encounter than any online seller will ever be.

Note: Different battery technologies require different charging regimens. AGM and lead acid batteries will be damaged by deep discharges whereas the capacity of lithium batteries may be diminished if kept fully charged. Each type requires specific charge rates. Please do your homework when considering batteries of different types in the same system.
