This heavy-duty poptop shock kit will allow you to raise you poptop with little to no effort. It is designed for the van that has big boxes, big solar panel, canoes and such. It's very easy to install and requires two 5/16th holes be drilled into the fiberglass top. Other kits on the market require drilling eight holes. These have 120lbs of assistance. For the heavy-duty kit, there must be something on the roof at all times. With no load on the roof, the top will not stay down and it makes packing the tent and securing the latches a real pain. If you're constantly varying the load on the roof, then please consider the dual kit.
