Fits 2wd ONLY. Square Speedo hole sometimes gets rounded out causing speedo cable to stop spinning or spin erratically. These disappeared for a few years but we are pleased to report that VW started making them again. Caps can be used on the passenger side as well, you will just need to put a dab of silicone in the hole to seal it up.
