***The length of heater hose in this kit is designed for a 2WD Vanagon. Because of the placement of the fuel tank on a Syncro 4WD Vanagon, if you are getting this kit and have a Syncro 4WD Vanagon you will need an extra 7 ft of heater hose that will account for going around the fuel tank. You can purchase extra feet of Rubber Heater Hose or Silicone Heater Hose. You will not need any extra clamps in addition to this kit.***

This kit includes 28 feet of 5/8" heater hose, 12 clamps, 2 of the metal 5/8th heater core tees, 1 billet reducer and one straight metal 5/8" to 5/8" connector. It will replace both heater hoses from the short preformed hoses that go to the front heater core (under the dash) to the rear heater core tees, the lines from the tees to the rear heater core and from the tees to the plastic tower and metal pipe at the rear of the van. Since you are eliminating the now obsolete tapered rear heater core hoses with straight 5/8th heater hose, you will need to install the aluminum reducer (supplied) in the hose that goes to the rear heater control valve in order to assure that the front heater core gets the proper flow of coolant. This kit will fit all vans 83.5-91, but on 1.9ltr models, you may end up with a little extra hose. Also note, that this kit when using it for the 1.9Ltr application will not replace the hose, part number KT-000954 which is from cylinder #1 to the heater tee. If you need that hose as well it will have to be ordered separately.

NOTE: Just to be clear, this kit does not include the hoses that go into the front dash and require removal of the dash. Those hoses are preformed hoses with required bends and as they are protected from the elements we have never seen these fail.
