This boot goes between the shift lever and the side of the manual transmission (it touches the transmission).

You'll very often see this boot degraded by its proximity to the road surface.  Replace yours to keep the seal behind the boot in good shape.

Fits all 1980-1991 Vanagons with manual transmissions.
