This sliding door hinge for 1980-1984 Vanagons is the only replacement on the market.  It has a MUCH stronger than original spring and will make the slider harder to close. 

If you are looking for a replacement to make your door quieter, don't buy this hinge. If your hinge has broken, then this is the only new replacement out there that we know of.
