This silicone hose kit will fit Vanagons with an automatic transmission. It will have the engine hoses and the radiator hoses but will not include the heater core hose or the hoses going to the automatic transmission cooler. Please keep reading to see which options apply to your van. The picture of this hose kit also shows the optional hoses.

Early automatic vans 86 thru early 87 to chassis number 25-H-022953 used the 251121438A coolant tower junction. In conjunction with this tower, the early automatics used the silicone coolant tower to coolant pipe hose from the tower to the pipe and 5/8th hose from the tower to the transmission cooler.

Later, automatics used the 251121438B coolant tower junction, and this tower eliminated the straight hose and 5/8th hose and replaced it with the "croquet mallet" hose, part number 251121104SIL (optional). So if you are an early van and you want to upgrade to the later style tower and the croquet mallet, this is the perfect time to do so.

The later automatic vans also used The big hose, part number 025121062FSIL with a branch on it to the transmission cooler that runs from the thermostat housing to the pipe that runs forward that fits both early and late model vans is an option as well. However, this hose is no longer made in rubber, and we had to have it made in silicone. It's a bit pricy, so we made it optional.

If this is enough to consider, you can also order the later tower in stainless steel.

But wait, there's more! If you are buying the early style hoses, you will need to select the S hose option from cylinder # 1 to the coolant tower junction, part number 251121130ASIL. If your van is the later model, you must choose the S hose part number 251121130BSIL. Finally, please order the early kit if you've upgraded to a stainless steel coolant junction.

Included in this kit you will find the 025121108HSIL Syncro Expansion Tank to Metal Pipe Hose which will need to be trimmed to fit the 2wd Vanagons.
