This rear hatch lock assembly for non-power door locks fits 1980 though very early 1984.  Through chassis # 24-E-005433.

NOTE:  This lock uses a VW Golf MKIII style key stock, Vanagon key stocks will not fit. If you wish you can drive the pin out of the new lock cylinder and replace it with your old Vanagon cylinder. Insert the key and rotate the cylinder to the locked position and push in. This will expose the pin on the backside of the cylinder. If your old cylinder is worn out or all of this sounds too complicated, just use the keys supplied with the new cylinder.
