Under the spring at the rear trailing arm is a typical place for Vanagons to rust.  Given its location and design, road debris accumulates and traps moisture.  The rust is often concealed by the very debris that is causing it.  This weld-in repair section is the answer.

NOTE:  Not all of these on the market are created equal. This unit includes an indentation for the spring to sit correctly. It is worth paying a little more money for the part to function more closely to the original part if you are going to the trouble of doing this job correctly.
