Nissen Vanagon radiator. After years of using the Behr brand radiator in our shop, we have recently started to use the Nissen brand because the price of the real Behr radiators (not the ones made in China) has continued to increase and are getting harder to get. The initial batch of Nissen radiators that hit the market years ago didn't float our boat, but Nissen has rectified their shortcomings, and all is good now.

Unlike many competing radiators, the Nissen uses a superior brass bleeder screw rather than plastic, eliminating a common failure point.

Fits all 83.5 to 91 gasoline model Vanagon. It also fits diesel Vanagon 8/82 thru 91; 1.6Ltr, 1.7Ltr, and 1.6Ltr turbo diesel. It can also fit early Vanagon diesel, but it will require modification to the auxiliary fan switch and fan shroud and may be beyond the backyard mechanics' ability.

As the Vanagons are all getting older, we find that poor flowing radiators are often the root cause of persistent difficulty in diagnosing continual cooling system problems. Cooling systems are the Vanagon's weak point, so best to stack everything in your favor by having a known, good flowing radiator. We package them well so they can make the journey safely. The radiator includes the brass bleeder valve bolt and washer.
