This headlight switch fits up to 1989 or 1990 Vanagons. The other (251941531T) fits newer ones. If you have a 1989 or 1990 please check the part number of your part. Switches are very similar except for the location of 1 pin connector. Since the beginning of the Vanagon production run, Volkswagen has superseded this switch several times. 251941531/531A, 531B, 531C, 531D, and 531K were all superseded by the 251941531M switch.
