This headlight switch is correct for vans with switches with eight-pins on the back of the switch (usually 1980-1988). Later Vans had switches with ten-pins. Please see the photo for an illustration of what each of the switches looks like. 

• If the part number on the rear of your switch ends in A, B, C, D, K, or M, you have an eight pin switch.
• If the part number on the rear of your switch ends in Q, S, or T you have a ten-pin switch.

Accessing your switch to check which version you have is easy.  Lift the cover off your dash pod by pulling up from the rear.  Reach down next to the gauge cluster and push in the tabs on either side of the headlight switch; it will push out through the front of the dash along with its wiring connector. Gently pull the switch out of the connector and look at the back to find the number of pins and part number.

Note for folks with ten-pin switches:  The illuminated ten-pin switches are long gone.  If you have a ten-pin switch you may need to rework the wiring on the back of your connector in order to use the switch we sell here.  You will also lose the switch illumination.  Please see the schematic for you particular year in your Bentley manual to determine proper wiring.
