This headlight switch fits 1980 through 1989 or 1990 Vanagons. The later switch (251941531T) for 1990 and later was an illuminated version with an extra pin but unfortunately is no longer available.  You can use this switch instead but your switch won't light up.

If you have a 1989 or 1990 please check the part number of your part. Switches are very similar except for the location of 1 pin connector.

Since the beginning of the Vanagon production run, Volkswagen has superseded this switch several times. 251941531/531A, 531B, 531C, 531D, and 531K were all superseded by the 251941531M switch.
