This hydraulic engine valve lifter rides on the camshaft and pushes the pushrod to open the cylinder head valves.

Lifters wear out over time (or with delayed oil changes) and we recommend new lifters with each engine rebuild.

Fits all aircooled, 1.9L, and 2.1L Vanagons from 1980-1991.  Also fits bay window buses from 1976-1979.

Eight per engine.

Installation note:

New lifters must be pre-oiled and bled. To do this we recommend using a small oil can with pump and spout. Press spout against small hole in side of lifter and pump until bubbles stop coming out top with oil. There will still be some tapping upon start up, but it will be significantly less.
