This coolant temperature sensor (also known as the Temp Sensor II) is responsible for telling the fuel injection ECU whether or not the car is warmed up.  It's a commonly malfunctioning sensor that can result in a rich running condition (too much fuel). 

This sensor is used on all 2wd models from 1986-91 but the 1.9L and Syncro models takes the earlier style threaded sensor, (part KT-000989).

New o-ring included.

NOTE: Sometimes it is not the sensor itself causing a running issue but corrosion on the electrical connector. Unplug the connector and clean the contacts on both the plug and the sensor with a small wire brush.  If that doesn't fix your issue, try a new sensor.
